What is the E-Edition?
The Galveston County Daily News E-Edition is a premium service for paid subscribers. It includes a page browser for viewing electronic versions of printed newspaper pages publishing since January, 2006.
This electronic newspaper provides paid subscribers with access to daily favorites not available as part of our free Web Edition, such as puzzles, comics and columnists, or weekly features such as Applause.
The E-Edition includes access to our archive of stories published as part of The Daily News Web Edition since January 2002. Also available is a personal clipping library that allows subscribers to store their favorite pages or articles online for the duration of their subscription.
How much does it cost?
The Daily News E-Edition is available for purchase as a monthly subscription. The service is $8 per month and automatically renews each month.
If I pay for home delivery, do I get the E-Edition for free?
Yes, home delivery or mail subscribers can get the E-Edition for free.
What do I need to get started?
To access The Daily News E-Edition, you'll need a new or existing paid subscription. You'll also need a valid e-mail address and a free user account with The Daily News Web Edition to access the service. Visit the E-Edition to sign up.
Where do I find my home delivery subscription account number?
Your subscription account number should appear near the top of your billing statement.
If you do not receive a billing statement or your subscription is managed by an independent carrier, you can request your account number using our online contact form and it will be sent back to you by e-mail within one business day.
How many readers can share an E-Edition subscription?
Currently, only one user account and e-mail address can be matched to a home delivery account number, so just one reader per subscription at the moment.
How do I subscribe to home delivery?
To subscribe to The Daily News newspaper and get the E-Edition at no additional cost, subscribe online with a credit card and we'll instantly enable your account. Or order by phone at (409) 683-5260 Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. It'll take at least one business day after placing a phone order for your E-Edition access to be enabled.
Does the E-Edition include coupons and supplements?
No. The Daily News E-Edition does not yet include coupons, department store supplements and feature magazines like USA Weekend that are inserted inside the newspaper. The E-Edition does contain the pages from all of the news and advertising sections of the daily newspaper, plus some special sections.
What is The Archive?
Online access to articles published in The Daily News since early 2002. Print out the articles for your personal use or save them to your clipping library.
What if I want to find an article before 2002?
Articles prior to January 2002 are not available.
Do I use my same log in for the E-Edition and The Daily News web site?
Yes, your Daily News Web Edition account works for all E-Edition content.
Will The Daily News become strictly a paid site?
No. A large amount of current news and articles from the past 30 days will continue to be available via The Daily News Web Edition. But benefits such as the complete contents of the printed newspaper, access to its pages or access to the full archive are only available to paid subscribers.
Do you offer a trial?
Sorry, we do not currently offer a trial. We do, however, offer a discount of $8 per month. We invite you to try out us out this low monthly rate.
How do I cancel my account?
To cancel your account, call our circulation department during business hours at (409) 683-5260. We're available Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. or email us. Allow up to 48 hours for your cancellation to be processed.
